Imakatsu opened its first outlet in June 2009, in Japan's most international area, Roppongi. In August 2013, Imakatsu opened its second store next to the Kabuki-za (in Ginza), a sacred palce for Japanese traditional arts.

The salt used at Imakatsu is extracted from the seawater of the Yamaguchi Prefecture. Carefully bolled down at the kettle, the salt contains plenty of minerals and is free of additives, maximizing the flevour of meat for a delicious finish.
